HARTIGAN HONORS OUR DECEASED MEMBERS
It was a very successful and special event which we hold very dear to our hearts. A Memorial Mass was held at St. Martin of Tours Church on June 25th in remembrance of our departed brother knights of Rev. Michael J. Hartigan Knights of Columbus. Fr. Jiya gave a very warm homily and praised our efforts at Hartigan Council.
After the mass, we gathered at Hartigan House for a communion breakfast in our Lounge area. There were 10 widows of our departed brother knights in attendance with their guests and it was a wonderful event with a delicious breakfast. We remembered our departed brother knights and their widows as we do each year.
At Hartigan Council, you are never forgotten as a brother knight. That’s what makes our council so special. The event was so special that even our District Deputy, Vincent Mineo attended both the mass and breakfast and we were so appreciative of him for taking time from his busy schedule to be with us on this memorable occasion.
Special thanks to our outgoing Grand Knight Steve Descovich and his wife Maureen for making the hot food arrangements and Catering Manager Kevin Zaremba and Sean Zaremba for set up in the lounge. Also to Christine Baumbach for helping PGK Joe Interrante distribute the roses during our remembrance ceremony.
And finally, thanks to our brother knights and incoming Grand Knight Jim Ward who attended and helped out during the event.

O Mary, you always brighten our path as a sign of salvation and of hope. We entrust ourselves to you, Health of the Sick, who,at the Cross, took part in Jesus’ pain while remaining steadfast in faith. O loving Mother, you know what we need, and we are confident you will provide for us as at Cana in Galilee. Intercede for us with your Son Jesus, the Divine Physician, for those who have fallen ill, for those who are vulnerable, and for those who have died. Intercede also for those charged with protecting the health and safety of others and for those who are tending to the sick and seeking a cure. Help us, O Mother of Divine Love, to conform to the will of the Father and to do as we are told by Jesus, who took upon himself our sufferings and carried our sorrows, so as to lead us, through the Cross, to the glory of the Resurrection. Amen. Under thy protection we seek refuge, O Holy Mother of God. In our needs, despise not our petitions, but deliver us always from all dangers, O glorious and blessed Virgin. Amen.
